What is the difference between No Welfare, High Welfare, and Highest Welfare when they all require animals to die? Only human comfort, NONE protect the actual animals. The most humane, ethical, and honest Webster-defined "welfare" is NOT exploiting animals - not using, not wearing, not eating, not killing - animals. The only meaningful position is vegan, everything else is just how humans euphemize animals' required suffering and violent deaths: no human exploits animals because they honestly believe that NOT exploiting animals is UNethical or INhumane.

Urgent: Stop the Polar Bear Rug Trade

October 2, 2012
by

Wikimedia Commons

BACKGROUND | CENTER FOR BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY

Adding to polar bears’ already bleak prospects from climate change, risky offshore drilling and toxic contamination, the international trade in endangered species parts is booming. The price for polar bear fur reached a record high last year as the bears’ numbers shrink along with their sea-ice habitat.

The Obama government is considering pushing for greater protections under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. At the last CITES negotiations, the United States led the charge to ban all commercial trade in polar bear parts — but Canada blocked our efforts. This year the Russian Federation has promised to support a trade ban on polar bear parts if the United States introduces the resolution.

The deadline for introducing the resolution is this week.

Please contact the White House now and ask President Barack Obama’s government to take a stand for polar bears and champion these urgently needed trade restrictions.

WHOM TO CONTACT

Please click HERE to submit correspondence to President Obama

SAMPLE MESSAGE

Dear President Obama,

I strongly urge you to propose uplisting polar bears to Appendix I status under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).

If polar bears are going to have any chance of surviving in a warming Arctic, we must reduce all other threats to the species. Hundreds of polar bears are killed each year for the rug trade. This trade must be curtailed.

The Russian Federation has promised to back the United States if your government leads the way with an Appendix 1 resolution.

Please propose a CITES listing to protect polar bears under Appendix I this week and follow-through to advance their listing through the CITES process over the coming months.

Thank you.

Shut down Mazor Farm

BACKGROUND

You can Shut down Mazor Farm. In these critical last moments of the struggle to shut down Mazor Farm, an Israeli monkeys breeding farm selling them to horrible experiments, every voice counts. A 22-year animal rights fight is at its peak & needs your action now.

WHOM TO CONTACT

Israel’s Environment Protection Minister Gilad Erdan

Email: sar@sviva.gov.il

SAMPLE LETTER

Dear Minister Erdan,

I am writing today to express my support regarding your decision to cease providing requisite permits to Mazor Farm, a business that breeds and sells monkeys for animal experimentation; indeed, I extend my appreciation for your decision that will influence the closing of Moshav Mazor Farm. Your compassionate resolution will result in an ethical consequence, liberating more 1000 monkeys and relinquishing them to their natural habitat; future ramifications include rejecting additional exploitation, and the lives potentially stolen will be the lives realistically saved.

Thank you for refusing exploitation and instead observing empathy; I trust the overwhelming support acknowledging your courageous and empathetic decision exemplifies the importance of such and is considered when you finalize this declaration. Your moral decision supporting the closing of Mazor Farm will additionally serve as a model to other communities. I extend my gratitude towards you and hope you will accept my gesture of appreciation and respect, as well as my request that you hasten your plans to abolish the trading of monkeys in Israel for experimentation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this urgent message.

Urge Atlanta Pride to Skip Party at Georgia Aquarium

September 29, 2012
by

Wikimedia Commons

BACKGROUND

Atlanta Pride came under fire from “out” PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews last year when the event’s kickoff party was held at the Georgia Aquarium and featured blaring music throughout the night—even though several species at the aquarium are extremely sensitive to sound. Despite hearing from PETA and others, Atlanta Pride organizers have not been responsive and have again booked the aquarium for this year’s kickoff party. That’s why animal advocate Jane Lynch recently reached out to Pride organizers in hopes that they would consider a different place for their party.

Like many marine animals, dolphins and beluga whales are guided by an intricate sonar system, which is thwarted in the small tanks at the Georgia Aquarium. Excessive outside noise only adds to the animals’ distress, causing them to become fearful and aggressive. Fortunately, one major facility now under construction—Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto—has just stated that it will not exhibit sound-sensitive marine mammals at all.

Please use this brand-new example in appealing to Atlanta Pride Managing Director Buck Cooke today to urge him to switch the event’s kickoff party to a more humane venue. It’s not like Atlanta is hurting for party places.

WHOM TO CONTACT

SAMPLE COMMENT

I am writing to ask that you seriously consider moving the Atlanta Pride kickoff party from the Georgia Aquarium to a new venue–one that does not promote animal suffering. Many animals at the aquarium are sensitive to sound and guided by an intricate sonar system that is thwarted by thumping music. Loud music causes constant vibrations off the tank walls, which is maddening for the animals. Some animals have even become aggressive during these parties, attacking one another in their tanks out of frustration. Marine mammals’ extreme sensitivity to sound is one reason why newer aquariums–such as Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto, which is currently under construction–have stated that they will not exhibit whales or dolphins.

Holding the kickoff party at a venue that profits from animal suffering is not consistent with the compassionate spirit of Atlanta Pride. Please consider switching to a more humane venue.

Thank you for your consideration.

Again, Please Urge Ottawa, Ontario, to Reject Cruel Trapping of Beavers

September 23, 2012
by

Wikimedia Commons

UPDATE | 09/24/12

Thank you for your email. I appreciate your input and concern for wildlife. It appears you may not have all the pertinent information and there is more detail that may be of interest to you.

The beaver that were dwelling in the man-made storm sewer at Paul Lindsay Pond have been successfully live-trapped and relocated to Morris Island in the Morris Island Conservation Area. The relocation was authorised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and conducted by wildlife professionals and overseen by the same City Bylaw & Regulatory Services staffer who has tended the Royal Swans for most of her career.

I understand that Morris Island has plenty of food and space for the beaver and their activities will not impact private property (a picture of Morris Island is attached). As well, the water levels at Morris Island are controlled by Les Chats dam, so the beaver do not need to build their own dam. They can build the same type of bank lodge that they would have built at Paul Lindsay Park pond which they do in fact have sufficient time to carry out.

The conditions for the beaver in the pond in which they were living were less than ideal. They were, in fact, living in the one of the pond’s culverts (a picture of this location is attached). Essentially it is a sewer in which various gases can build up. Storm water management ponds are designed such that water can rise and fall over short periods of time and therefore, they make very unpredictable habitat for this type of animal.

The beaver had not had an opportunity to build a proper lodge and unless the water in the pond had risen substantially, the beaver would not have been able to do so. Our professional wildlife advisors and city staff determined that the window of opportunity to move the beaver to a more natural setting was now, when they still have time to settle in to a new location before winter. A picture of the beaver swimming in their new home is also attached.

I trust that this information will be of use to you.

Sincerely,

Jim Watson
Mayor
City of Ottawa

BACKGROUND

The city of Ottawa, Ontario, is still considering using cruel traps to kill beavers. Body-gripping, steel-jaw, and snare traps are horribly cruel. Animals suffocate when the traps clamp down on their necks, or they drown (which can take up to 15 minutes, all the while experiencing extreme terror and pain) when traps pin them underwater. Panicked, exhausted animals trapped in shallow water can also drown, and many victims attempt to chew themselves free.

Please politely ask Ottawa to ditch the cruel use of traps entirely. And please forward this message.

SAMPLE LETTER

Dear Officials,

It has come to my attention that Ottawa is considering using traps to cruelly kill beavers at Lindsay Pond Park. The city recently made the compassionate decision to explore humane beaver control methods, but now it’s apparently backing away from that.

Body-gripping, steel-jaw, and snare traps are horribly cruel. Animals suffocate when the traps clamp down on their necks, or they drown (which can take up to 15 minutes, all the while experiencing extreme terror and pain) when traps pin them underwater. Panicked animals trapped in shallow water can also drown, and many victims attempt to chew themselves free.

Beavers can be humanely controlled using flow pipe and fence devices. These devices keep beavers out of areas where they are unwanted and encourage them to live elsewhere.

It would be unfortunate, but until this barbarism is appropriately addressed including a mandatory ban of such, I and others will collectively boycott resulting in the sacrifice of vital tourism and commerce profits. Please act responsibly and with compassion and choose to protect, rather than sanction harm, to animals.

Thank you for taking the time to read this urgent appeal.

Ask NIH to Stop Funding Cruel UW Experiment on Cats

September 22, 2012
by

BACKGROUND

For decades, experimenters at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) have been conducting cruel and useless taxpayer-funded “sound localization” studies in which cats have steel coils implanted in their eyes, holes drilled into their skulls, and electrodes implanted in their brains. Sometimes, cats used in this experiment have had their ears cut off or are intentionally deafened by having a toxic chemical applied to their inner ear. The cats are then deprived of food for several days in order to coerce them to look in the direction of sounds during experimental sessions in which their heads are immobilized by a bolt screwed into their skulls.

Internal UW documents and photographs obtained by PETA in response to a successful lawsuit detail the miserable life and death of one of the cats, a gentle tabby named Double Trouble, who was abused and killed in this barbaric experiment. In one instance, Double Trouble woke up while experimenters were cutting into her head. Following a series of invasive surgeries, she developed infections, became lethargic and depressed, started to twitch, and suffered paralysis in half her face. After UW deemed the experiment a failure, the experimenters killed and decapitated Double Trouble so that they could examine her brain.

Experimenters have justified the use of 30 cats like Double Trouble per year in this cruel project not by saying that it would enhance human health but by stating that they needed to “keep up a productive publication record that ensures our constant funding.”

Shockingly, the federal government continues to support this irrelevant and deadly project and has provided UW with more than $3 million in grant money to abuse animals—even though researchers at other institutions around the world are already using modern methods with human volunteers to investigate how the brain locates and processes sound.

PETA has called on federal officials to investigate the circumstances surrounding Double Trouble’s horrendous treatment and take disciplinary action against UW for likely violations of federal animal welfare laws. You can help our efforts by contacting the National Institutes of Health and urging the agency to cut funding for this crude and deadly project.

Putting your subject line and letter into your own words will help draw attention to your e-mail.

Cut Funding for Cruel Experiment on Cats at UW-Madison!

SAMPLE LETTER

To Whom It Concerns,

I was dismayed to learn that the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders has given more than $3 million for a series of cruel experiments on cats at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW). In the studies, cats have steel coils implanted in their eyes, holes drilled into their skulls, and electrodes implanted in their brains. Sometimes, cats used in these UW experiments have had their ears cut off or are intentionally deafened by having a toxic chemical applied to their inner ear. The cats are then deprived of food for several days in order to coerce them to look in the direction of sounds during experimental sessions in which their heads are immobilized by a bolt screwed into their skulls.

Internal UW documents and photographs obtained by PETA show that one cat subjected to this experiment, an orange tabby cat named Double Trouble, woke up while experimenters were cutting into her head. Following a series of invasive surgeries, she developed infections, became lethargic and depressed, started to twitch, and suffered paralysis in half her face. After UW deemed the experiment a failure, the experimenters killed and decapitated Double Trouble so that they could examine her brain.

Equally shocking is that UW experimenters justified the use of the 30 cats for this crude experiment in their protocol not by saying that it would enhance human health but by stating that it was necessary for them to “keep up a productive publication record that ensures our constant funding.” I find it troubling that millions of tax dollars are being spent to abuse and kill animals and further the personal careers of a few animal experimenters, rather than being invested in research that would benefit the American people.

Today, many laboratories are conducting modern and relevant sound localization studies using human volunteers. I urge your agency to end its financial support of this cruel and sloppy experiment at UW and divert funding toward humane and applicable human-based research.

Stop the Hurstville rodeo (this Sunday!)

September 21, 2012
by

3dayz

Please click and sign, send automatic letter HERE

Background

UrgentOn the 23rd of September the Australian Lugarno Lions Club, with the approval of Hurstville City Council, have organised a rodeo as the main attraction of their annual Spring Festival. The Australian Bushmen’s Campdraft and Rodeo Association (ABCRA) invited themselves to the party and will demonstrate how to be cruel to animals during a bull-riding and saddle bronco riding event.

To force a bronco or bull to come out of the chute bucking a flank strap is pulled tightly around their groin. When pulled tightly, the flank cuts into the sensitive area, irritating them and causing them to buck in an attempt to relieve the discomfort. Once the flank strap is removed, the animal stops bucking. To further increase bucking, riders are allowed to wear metallic spurs with loosened rowels (star shaped wheels). Just prior to being released the rider digs his spurs into the animal’s side cause further aggravation, as well as help him stay on the animal. Another widely used method to get the animal to buck is using an electric pod… without fear and pain, there is no rodeo.

Check out this video of Australian rodeos as organized by groups such as the ABCRA!

What you can do

Please contact the Lugarno Lions Club and Helen Dickenson-Panas, the Events and Protocol Officer at Hurstville City Council and ask them to cancel the rodeo from the Spring Festival’s program! Simply fill in the form HERE and click ‘Send’. You can also edit the letter to your liking – personal letters carry much more weight and prove more effective than form letters.

Petition text

Dear representative,

I am writing to urge you to cancel the rodeo from the program of the Lugarno Lions Spring Festival this Sunday, the 23rd of September.

It is unacceptable for animals to be subjected to deliberate cruelty for no other purpose than so-called entertainment. Video footage from recent rodeos in Australia clearly demonstrates that the horses and bulls (among other animals) involved are stressed and fearful. Injuries and even deaths are not uncommon.

Rodeos are banned on cruelty grounds in the ACT, in the United Kingdom, and in parts of Europe and the USA. This is 2012 – surely as a society we can now agree that it is unacceptable to subject animals to cruelty and distress in the name of entertainment.

Please take action immediately to stop this rodeo from happening at this festival! Thank you for taking the time to consider this important appeal.

Help Spare Beluga Whales a Lifetime of Confinement

September 20, 2012
by

Wikimedia Commons

BACKGROUND

The Georgia Aquarium has applied for a permit to import 18 wild-caught beluga whales from Russia as part of an initiative to breed them for exhibition at aquariums and marine parks across the country. Beluga whales are sensitive marine mammals with complex physical and psychological needs. Shipping them like cargo across the world only to confine them to an aquarium for the rest of their lives is cruel and unjustifiable. Because importing these animals is such a controversial move, there is a public comment period for the next 60 days, and we need your voice to make sure that the whales stay put!

People are captivated by beluga whales, but when confined to aquariums, these fascinating marine mammals continue to live in misery long after visitors return home with their pictures and memories. Most captive whales die prematurely and live to only half the age of their wild brothers and sisters. In the wild, whales swim together with their families for miles a day. They navigate by bouncing sonar waves off objects to determine location and distance. In captivity, their ocean worlds are reduced to claustrophobic swimming pools, and they suffer in frustration as they are forced to swim in endless circles, their natural instincts thwarted by the small tanks.

Breeding programs for beluga whales have been unsuccessful despite more than 50 years of trying. We need to stop this, not subject more animals to lives of misery in captivity and a premature death. Transporting 18 wild-caught beluga whales from Russia to the United States would be a painful and noisy experience for the animals, and it would put their health and well-being at risk.

WHOM TO CONTACT

Please contact the National Marine Fisheries Service HERE and let officials know why they should deny the Georgia Aquarium a permit to import more than a dozen beluga whales. Suggested text is below. These intelligent animals deserve more than to be torn away from their home and families and treated as moneymaking breeding machines.

You are only required to input your first and last name.  No other completion of fields is required.

SUGGESTED SUBJECT

Please Do Not Approve Georgia Aquarium’s Permit

SAMPLE LETTER

I am writing to ask that you deny the Georgia Aquarium a permit to import 18 wild-caught beluga whales from Russia for captive breeding and exhibition at marine parks and aquariums. Beluga breeding programs in the United States have been largely unsuccessful, and there is no compelling evidence that these programs create interest in, educate visitors on, or change people’s attitudes about conservation. Beluga whales have distinct personalities and form strong familial bonds, and when confined to aquarium tanks, their natural instincts are thwarted. Instead of swimming for miles a day with their families, these complex and intelligent animals are reduced to swimming in endless circles in barren tanks and performing silly stunts for aquarium patrons.

Aquariums are a stifling environment for beluga whales compared to the vast open ocean. Captive whales live half as long as their counterparts in the wild. Please give these animals a chance at a normal, fulfilling life by refusing to allow the Georgia Aquarium to import them for breeding purposes—which have proved to be unsuccessful in a stressful captive atmosphere. These unique animals deserve much more than to be treated as moneymaking commodities.

Thank you for your consideration.

URGENT: Call for End to Yellville’s Sadistic ‘Turkey Drop’

September 18, 2012
by

Wikimedia Commons

UPDATE | 10-15-2012

For the second year in a row, the tradition in Yellville, Arkansas, of hurling live turkeys to their deaths from airplanes was stopped. Thank you to everyone who spoke out against this event, especially the countless Arkansas residents who made themselves heard. PETA’s reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of “turkey drop” participants stands. Please know that we will push for a vigorous prosecution of anyone directly involved in future incidents as well as revocation of his or her pilot’s license.

BACKGROUND

On October 12 and 13, the city of Yellville is holding its annual Turkey Trot Festival, during which an illegal event known as the “Turkey Drop” historically takes place. This event involves the hurling of wild turkeys—who typically fly only short distances, rarely reaching 100 feet high—from private planes traveling around 70 miles per hour and at altitudes of around 1,000 feet! Disoriented and unable to right themselves, most birds plummet like bricks, fatally crashing onto buildings, cars, and the street. Those with wind under their wings careen at extreme speeds into the landscape.

This event violates Arkansas anti-cruelty laws which state that “a person commits the offense of cruelty to animals if he or she knowingly subjects any animal to cruel mistreatment” as well as the Federal Aviation Administration Code which states that “[n]o pilot in command of a civil aircraft may allow any object to be dropped from that aircraft in flight that creates a hazard to persons or property.” PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of direct participants, and we need your voice!   (The event did not take place during the 2011 year.)

WHOM TO CONTACT

Please politely urge officials to do everything in their power to put an end to this cruel event, and then forward this alert widely!

The Honorable Shawn Lane
Mayor of Yellville
clerk@yellville.net

Yellville City Hall
870-449-6581
http://www.yellvilleweb.com/city.htm

SAMPLE LETTER

Dear Honorable Lane,

I have just learned of the annual “Turkey Drop” during which live turkeys are tossed from planes, and I am writing to respectfully request this event be cancelled due to its inherent cruelty as well as its illegal content consistent with the below statute and also based on FAA rules.

Please allow me to elaborate. Are you aware of the brutality inflicted on animals for this cruel “tradition”? Turkeys are dropped from planes, condemned to a torturous and excruciating ceremony for citizen fun: indeed, this is a clear case of illegal violence and abuse as these animals are being exploited in the worst manner possible. Is the ruthless destruction of animals a mere manifestation of social greed and cheap entertainment? Surely when you support such violence against innocent animals via apathy you indeed allow indifference and cruelty to permeate our society and tarnish your image.

Furthermore, the Turkey Drop clearly violates Arkansas law (§5-62-103), which states that “a person commits the offense of cruelty to animals if he or she knowingly subjects any animal to cruel mistreatment.” This event also proves potentially dangerous to people on the ground as well when these gentle, frightened creatures are hurled over homes, businesses, and busy streets.

I implore upon you to act swiftly and responsibly by discontinuing any relationship you maintain relative to the Turkey Drop and use all available and legal resources to make certain the Turkey Drop does not occur. Regrettably, until such a time, however, I feel my only recourse is to promote a boycott of your city and state and share this alarming news with others. Please, I ask respectfully for you to be a model of empathy and condemn the Turkey Drop and demonstrate that yours is a compassionate city that will not enable or support this brutality against turkeys.

I know your time is limited, and I want to thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.

Michigan Humane Society (MHS) Board of Directors: Call for the resignations of Mr. Cal Morgan and Mr. David Williams

By Renee L. Miller

Background

As a past supporter of the MHS and an animal advocate, it came to my attention that the MHS has an alarming and disturbing rate of euthanasia.

It is my plea that MHS adheres to its mission and stop the needless killing of 66 dogs and cats in your shelters EVERY SINGLE DAY. In 2011, the Michigan Humane Society’s own report to the Michigan Department of Agriculture reveals that the shelter killed 17,265 animals that year / (52 weeks a year * 5 days a week = 260 days) = 66 animals killed per day / 7 hours per day = 9.5 animals killed per hour). Call for the resignations of the two men who are responsible for this: Mr. Cal Morgan, Executive Director, and Mr. David Williams, COO. Animals in their care are being killed at a rate that is among the worst in the nation.

In 2011, MHS saved only 29% of the animals taken into its shelters showing no improvement for over 8 years. For every ten dogs and cats that are brought into the front door of MHS, seven go out the door in body bags. In comparison, other large, open admissions, urban animal shelters have the following save rates: Austin (90%), Reno (91%), Denver (76%), and New York (73%). Right here in Michigan, the Humane Society of Huron Valley saved 81.5% of their animals in 2011. According to the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance’s Shelter Report on save rates (taken from 2010 statistics that shelters reported to the Michigan Department of Agriculture), the Michigan Humane Society ranked 136th out of 161 Michigan shelters. Because of MHS’s poor performance and practices, four members resigned from the MHS Board of Directors in June of 2011. Tragically, the same management team still sits today—and is the top paid animal sheltering team in Michigan. According to Charity Navigator’s 990 Report, Mr. Cal Morgan made $184,936 in 2010 and Mr. David Williams made $144,504 while their organization continues to kill seven out ten animals that enter the shelter.

As the largest animal welfare organization in the state, the Michigan Humane Society must do better. Your donors deserve a better animal welfare organization for our charitable contributions! To improve the organization, Mr. Cal Morgan, Executive Director, and Mr. David Williams, COO, must be removed and replaced with a leadership team that will save more animals. The Michigan Pet Fund Alliance stands ready to help the organization improve its save rates by moving to a No-Kill model. It is time for the Michigan Humane Society to become the organization its donors and the community deserve. Acknowledge your past poor performance by demanding Mr. Morgan’s and Mr. Williams’ resignations and embrace your future as a leader in the animal sheltering community. Thank you.

Please protest prairie dog massacre in Denver

BACKGROUND

Developers for Stapleton, a neighborhood in Denver, are reportedly using lethal methods to control prairie dogs who reside in and around the community’s parks. Although local activists asked developers to pursue implementing humane prairie dog control, their requests have reportedly been denied, and the developers are moving forward with a poisoning or fumigating initiative as early as right now!

Fumigants and poisons are horribly cruel, causing convulsions, vomiting, internal bleeding, gradual pulmonary and cardiac collapse, and a variety of other reactions, which result in immense suffering and a slow, agonizing death. Companion animals and “nontarget” wild animals—including protected and even endangered species—can also be fatally impacted.

Please contact Stapleton’s developers and politely urge them to ditch lethal methods and instead work with local activists on humane prairie-dog control efforts!

Please forward this message far and wide!

SAMPLE LETTER

Dear Vice Presidents Chrisman, Gleason, and Ratner, and Project Manager O’Connell:

Developers in Stapleton, a neighborhood in Denver, are reportedly using lethal methods to control prairie dogs who reside in and around the community’s parks, and I am respectfully requesting that non-lethal options be mandated. Although these culls are inherently cruel based on the premise alone, it is important to recognize they are based on erroneous information.

Please allow me to illustrate a few of these concerns. First, ecologically, populations will fluctuate according to conditions and naturally-occurring food sources; it is the interference of humans that causes imbalance. To blame and slaughter the prairie dogs for human encroachment is both irresponsible and unjustified.

Second, killing colonies artificially increases food supplies to the remaining animals, the consequence of which is increased reproduction and an ensuing greater population. In fact, studies have demonstrated that the continual cycle of seasonal culls is responsible for a rebound, or larger populations, in subsequent years.

Third, this type of mass killing using such a brutal type of slaughter in such a central and visible location would certainly adversely affect both visitation and tourism. I would be unwilling to consider it, or nearby, as a potential vacation destination if this prairie dog cull continues.

Fourth, fumigants and poisons are horribly cruel, causing convulsions, vomiting, internal bleeding, gradual pulmonary and cardiac collapse, and a variety of other reactions, which result in immense suffering and a slow, agonizing death. Companion animals and “nontarget” wild animals—including protected and even endangered species—can also be fatally impacted.

Please instead examine alternative, non-lethal, effective, long-term wildlife control programs that focus on habitat modification, exclusion, and repellents, which, according to established protocols when using these methods, have all proven successful in curtailing populations.

I know your time is limited and I want to thank you each for your attention to this urgent matter.
