Feds give up video of country star killing tame bear in Minnesota
From The Star Tribune

An animal-rights organization is claiming victory in a three-year legal fight to force the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to release a videotape of country music star Troy Gentry illegally killing a tame black bear on an enclosed game farm in east-central Minnesota.
The video, posted Monday on YouTube by SHARK (Showing Animals Respect and Kindness), shows Gentry smiling and giving the thumbs-up twice from his tree stand after shooting an arrow at close range into the side of a bear named Cubby in 2004 at the Minnesota Wildlife Connection near Sandstone.
Hell ya! … This is awesome. [We’ll] make sure he bleeds out good… Right now, it’s time to go celebrate …
“Wow, I can’t believe that,” Gentry, of the country music duo Montgomery Gentry, says while looking into the camera. “Hell ya! … This is awesome. Great black bear hunting up here in northern Minnesota.”

Decked out in camouflage, Gentry goes on to explain that “we’ll go down and get some coffee, go back to camp” and wait and “make sure he bleeds out good. … Right now, it’s time to go celebrate. I’m still shaking.”
Later, Gentry approaches the dead bear and notes how the carcass is “good and bubbly, which means we got a good blood shot.”
Then, Gentry is joined by property owner Lee Greenly kneeling behind the 600-pound bear as Gentry’s bow leans against the animal’s torso. “He didn’t even know what hit him,” Greenly said. “Perfect shot.”
Gentry’s attorney in the case, Ron Meshbesher, said Tuesday that he and Gentry’s agent were unaware of the challenge over release of the video and were declining to comment at this time.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife spokeswoman Sandy Cleva said the agency objected to releasing the video out of concern for the privacy rights of Gentry and Greenly.
The Fish and Wildlife Service argued that the video “could embarrass them or could shame them,” said Bill Eubanks, an attorney in Washington, D.C., and the lead attorney on behalf of SHARK in its suit against the agency.

Savage hunters–that is another issue with animal abuse. Gentry appeared to be proud of his sickening accomplishment. Was Gentry starving? (He doesnt look starving, just like 100% of other Americans). Did Gentry need to eat or die? What did that sicko beast (Gentry) do with all the bear meat? No excuse! I am sure that bear would rather be alive with his bear friends than have his sawed off fresh head on Gentry’s mantle. So this is fun? To deprive a beautiful creature of their breath? Maybe someday Gentry and people like him will get really brave and learn to help creatures and not destroy for fun!!!

Make sure this low life piece of scum pays for his evil crime…just because he entertains people, doesn’t put him above the law or give him the right to kill whatever and whenever he pleases…he MUST pay for his vicious and cruel act, both here and in the next life (where I hope he pays big time)…how DARE he kill this innocent creature….a beautiful, tame bear who was no threat to anyone….what a dirty, stinking coward!!!!!! Put the video out for all to see, then lets see that sickening smile wiped off his ugly face.

For three years the agency used our tax dollars to protect a murderer…a criminal. Shame on “our” government and I hope Gentry and his pal get jail time for this crime. Don’t forget to email the feds and let them know they are pathetic too.
