We need an Executive Order to save the horses!

By Judy Levy

After sending thousands of emails, letters, and faxes to BLM and DOI, America’s Precious Wild Horses are STILL being terrorized, tortured, and rounded up. Families are being broken up. Stallions are Fighting each other in closed areas. Baby Horses are screaming for their Mothers…the Mothers are screaming back for their babies from whom they have been separated. Our Poor Horses have been banished to HELL…What was their CRIME?

  • CALL PRESIDENT OBAMA ONE MILLION TIMES FOR THE NEXT 5 DAYS PLEASE DEMANDING AN EXECUTIVE ORDER TO STOP THE BLM WILD HORSE ROUNDUPS

(202) 456-1111 9-5 EST, M-F

  • EMAIL PRESIDENT OBAMA ONE MILLION TIMES THIS WEEK ASKING FOR AN IMMEDIATE EXECUTIVE ORDER TO STOP THE BLM ROUNDUPS OF AMERICA’S WILD HORSES

http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact

  • Use this SAMPLE LETTER if you wish to write to President Obama:

Mr. President…..YOU promised the American People CHANGE. Is this the change you promised? Killing Wild Mustangs and Mares with their BABIES? Is THIS the CHANGE you promised the American People in the time of Election? SIGN AN EXECUTIVE ORDER TO STOP THE BLM WILD HORSE ROUNDUPS NOW, PLEASE.

RELATED:
Two-Week-Old wild horse shot and killed before California roundup
From IndyBay, Cloud Foundation

The body of a wild horse foal was found near the site of the Twin Peaks roundup Wednesday by Craig Downer, wildlife ecologist and Cloud Foundation Board member, and Chrystie Davis, wild horse advocate. Davis, an experienced horsewoman, examined the foal for any broken bones. What she found was an apparent rope burn on a rear leg as well as a gunshot wound. Killing American wild horses is against the law in the U.S.

“It seems as though the foal was shot in the gut,” Davis states. “It looked as though the foal was abused, lassoed around the hind legs and dragged.”

The foal, approximately 2 weeks old, was killed prior to the start of the controversial Twin Peaks Herd Management Area roundup in Northern California. When Davis told BLM officials about finding the gunshot foal, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employee, Carman Prisco, told Davis she must be confused and the dead animal was an antelope. Photos taken by Downer confirmed that this is indeed a wild horse foal.

Photographs taken at the capture site, set on sharp lava rock, reveal blood stains within the trap.

Mustang advocates ask BLM law enforcement to conduct a thorough investigation into the abuse and death of the federally protected wild horse—killed before independent contractor, Cattoor Livestock, began rounding up wild horses with helicopters.

Field reports from those on the ground noted a severely injured white stallion that suffered head trauma supposedly from fighting with other stallions in tightly packed transport vehicles. Even though the injury was serious, the BLM contractor was quoted as saying a vet “might need” to be called. The whereabouts of that stallion are currently unknown. Another stallion was off loaded into a pen with eight mules that attacked him, causing traumatic injuries. This incident was also brought to the attention of the BLM by public observers.

Advocates were told yesterday that there were no injuries, yet when they went to look at the horses in holding, the area was blocked off. They were told that they could not access the area because the “injured horses” needed to rest.

Injuries are not uncommon in roundups and underscore the need for public access, says Ginger Kathrens, Director of the Cloud Foundation and EMMY Award-winning producer.

“Access is absolutely essential and is granted by the Constitution,” says Kathrens. “The ‘acceptable’ suffering of these horses is simply not acceptable to the caring public.”

Laura Leigh, Cloud Foundation Herd Watch coordinator, agrees.

“If this is what we see when the BLM actually allows us in, what happens when they black out their actions to the press and public?” asks Leigh, plaintiff for the Tuscarora round-up that ended July 20 in Nevada, “The time for real Congressional intervention is long overdue.”

The recent round-up in Tuscarora, Nevada—also run by Cattoor Livestock—resulted in the deaths of thirty-six wild horses.

These Wild Horse Round UPs are taking place deliberately to KILL them and my reason is the SEASON which BLM and Ken Salazar used for this killings (this season is the Foaling season and Mares feeding their New Born) , this is done on purpose to Please the OIL Companies and most of all the BP, After the mess in Mexican Gulf now is the Land and Wild Mustangs turn to destroy and Get the $$$ for their mess and the profit of their Share Holders.
BP + Ken Salazar + BLM are Wild Mustang Killers,New Born Foal Killers,Nature destroyers,American History destroyers.
Was this the Change OBAMA promised the world and most the American people or was it only for the VOTE and the OFFICE ?????????????

what a filthy race we are. These guys who crave to inflict pain can’t really get away with it towards humans… but can towards animals… usually…. not all the time, though. The only difference between us and animals is just a slight DNA adjustment.

I am appalled that President Obama or anyone else has allowed this horrible travesty to happen to our beautiful wild horses. Horses are
non-violent, peaceful animals and deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. May God help and protect them from cruelty such as this.

There are immutable seasons , the turkey season, the baby seals, the horses, the ducks, the deer, the salmon, and others . They’ve become part of “culture” . They mean death for the animals.
The round-ups, just as the duck hunting and the deer hunting seasons , just as the seal clubbing time , will not cease .

Animals have Powers that Human being could not dream of, for example how a mother could find her new born child in the Hospital , it don’t Mark them no one could tell but a Mare or a Sheep could find her New Born in hundreds Newly Born, this is just the tip of the Iceberg in what Animals are capable of doing, My life have been saved so many times by Horses because of the capabilities which I did not have as one human being.

I don’t understand, Why aren’t the authorities called and charges put on the people that are breaking the law. How come the police are never called.BLM does not have absolution and they are subject to the laws of the land just like everyone else. There are witnesses that see, so why aren’t they filing a conplaint?

My Email To The President:After this 2 week old foal was brutalized and murdered it is time that you Mr. President put a stop to the BLM once and for all. There is no acceptable reason why you should be hesitating in doing what is right. With every passing day, with every unnecessary death you loose more voters. There is no understanding by now as to why you would not take action to reign these outlaws in. You have gotten plenty of calls, emails, petitions, faxes, and in some cases, personal visits. You are putting your future as the president of this United States to protect and back outlaws. They gut shot a 2 week old foal, abused, and drug it. These people are not dealing with a full deck. You have to do something. This United States is going to have a riot on its hands,if these sorry excuses for human beings are not brought to justice. They are the most despicable pieces of human garbage that I have ever had the misfortune to have the knowledge of. They the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employee, Carman Prisco, told Davis she must be confused and the dead animal was an antelope. Photos taken by Downer confirmed that this is indeed a wild horse foal. How many lies is it going to take from BLM, how many death is it going to take before the right and honorable thing is done. These good old boys are costing you the next election Mr. President. Are they worth the price of that and your integrity? I wouldn’t think so. In fact they aren’t worth much at all. Just a bunch of naste bottom feeders. An Executive Order is called for here and now. All round ups should stop and the horse advocates should be put in charge of these mustangs and burros and they should be returned to their lands. and (EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE) to hell with the stinking cattlemen, the stinking oil men and the stinking what ever else that has crawled out from under their rocks to contaminate and ruin and destroy everything they touch.

I hope you will listen this time sir, they gut shot ,abused, and drug a 2 week old baby foal, you can not let this pass, as if it didn’t happen, you just can not.

One advocate I know wrote to the BLM about the foal, and this Debbie Collins who has been answering the emails there – if you’ve heard from Debbie, nothing will surprise you – Debbie told her that the pictures of that foal were fake. I said nothing Debbie says would surprise me, but this is idiotic even for this poor clueless child.

At first, the BLM field office told Craig Downer and others that they must have mistaken an antelope body for a foal. An antelope with solid hooves. Then, the BLM said the foal was not shot, that the hole in it’s belly was made by some predator. AFTER Craig and co. had found spent cartridges right beside the body.

It’s bad enough to insinuate that Downer and other professionals would mistake a foal for an antelope, but this “not a bullet hole” stuff is outrageous. Besides that, who or what are they making themselves look like idiots to protect?
