Terrorized Australian goats in outback New South Wales are used to pull carts carrying kids or adults; these terrified goats run into fences and sheds, they fall and are beaten and dragged back up, they end up bloodied and bruised: this sickening ‘sport’ is known as goat racing. It must be outlawed now.
This cruel ‘sport’ has gone on for 30 years, which is 30 years too long for these abused goats, and now it MUST END!
An Australian Current Affair programme, Today Tonight, aired an extremely disturbing story exposing the town of Walgett in NSW, for using terrified goats to pull carts carrying children and adults:
It’s one of the goriest blood sports imaginable, but few Australians knew about goat racing until our damning story last night exposing the appalling, cruel treatment of little children and feral goats, in what’s billed as a bonanza family tourist attraction.

Children, who could of course also be injured, should not be exposed to this kind of cruelty, and they should certainly not be taught that animal abuse is acceptable. Despite the outcry over this cruel ‘sport’, the town of Gatlett is planning to once again abuse and exploit terrified goats next year.

I was utterly sickened and shocked to learn that Walgett, a town in New South Wales, Australia, is abusing and exploiting terrified goats by using these animals to pull carts carrying children and adults, a sport known as ‘goat racing’. It is also being said that other towns in NSW also participate in this cruel ‘sport’. This brutal sickening form of so called ‘entertainment’ must be banned now.
This obscenely cruel ‘use’ of animals has of course been circulated worldwide and will undoubtedly destroy Australia’s reputation as being a country that claims to have the ‘best welfare practices’ in the world. In fact, thanks to the town of Walgett ( and other towns) in NSW, Australia will now have a reputation as being a country which abuses animals, in this case goats, all in the name of ‘entertainment’.
Those who participate in this cruel sport are clearly entertained, but the abused and exploited goats certainly are not.
I urge the RSPCA to take action and outlaw the cruel, indefensible ‘sport’ of goat racing.

Obviously some Australians have no more brains than a mentally retarded flea to want to be involved as either a spectator or a participant in such a revolting sport. The animals are obviously terrified as theya re going off in all directions. What a pity those people have nothing better to do with their time.

It is very disturbing to watch. It is apparent that the goats
are terrified and not enjoying any part of the activity.
Maybe the people involved could take the place of the goats
and see how it feels to be dragged around by their heads
