What is the difference between No Welfare, High Welfare, and Highest Welfare when they all require animals to die? Only human comfort, NONE protect the actual animals. The most humane, ethical, and honest Webster-defined "welfare" is NOT exploiting animals - not using, not wearing, not eating, not killing - animals. The only meaningful position is vegan, everything else is just how humans euphemize animals' required suffering and violent deaths: no human exploits animals because they honestly believe that NOT exploiting animals is UNethical or INhumane.

A woman in Pakistan and some of her children were treated for acid burns in May after the woman was attacked by her husband, who was convinced she was having an affair and was trying to protect his “honor.”

Irshad, son of Mushtaq, was arrested by the Shah Faisal police with the help of a non-governmental organisation, Madadgaar, after an FIR (363/2010) was lodged against him.
Sultana, 35, married Irshad out of her own will. After their marriage, Irshad started suspecting her of having an affair and remained suspicious even after they had five children.
On May 27 this year, he threw acid on her face while she was sleeping. She received severe burns and was rushed to the Burns Centre at Civil Hospital, Karachi, by her in-laws, who threatened to harm her children if she told anyone who the culprit was.
During the acid attack, Sultana’s younger children were also injured.
On June 18, Madadgaar, the helpline for women and children, made a routine visit to the Burns Centre, where Sultana narrated her ordeal to their field officer, Bushra Syed.

Your compassionate resolution will result in an ethical consequence, liberating more than hundreds of monkeys and relinquishing them to their natural habitat; future ramifications include rejecting additional exploitation, and the lives potentially stolen will be the lives realistically saved.

BACKGROUND | From Invitro
The Mazor breeding farm currently holds 1,000 long tailed macaque monkeys. Some of these monkeys were wild caught on the island of Mauritius, while others were born in captivity. Mazor is a link in the chain of cruel trade in which monkeys are forcibly removed from their natural environment then flown thousands of miles in small cages to laboratories or breeding facilities. These animals will have been separated from their family groups, the young brutally separated from their mothers.
Mazor is little more than a monkey breeding factory, whose manager considers the monkeys to be “production units” whose sole purpose is to increase profits, through the sale of the offspring to laboratories. To further increase profitability, the young are separated early from their mothers, allowing these females to mate as soon as possible. Early forced separation is traumatic to both the young and the mothers. These mothers will cry out and cling in desperation to the bars of their cages in a vain attempt to look for their young. The young who have been moved to a separate enclosure, will in turn look for their mothers and display signs of severe distress. Not all of these animals will survive this difficult transition and some will die.
Those who survive will have their chests tattooed with a four digit serial number and then be sold to laboratories in Europe, the US and Israel. Every year, hundreds of these terrified young monkeys will be forced to travel huge distances in tiny crates to faraway destinations, to a fate worse than death, which awaits them. Each of these “units” will fill the pockets of the breeding farm manager to the tune of $2800.
A fate worse than death
The vast majority of these young monkeys will be sold to laboratories that specialize in toxicology (poisoning tests). Among the clients of Mazor are Covance (Germany), the Swedish centre for Biological studies, as well as laboratories in the UK, Belgium, Italy and the US. The monkeys will be housed in miserable conditions and will undergo toxicity tests in which they will be injected or force fed with drugs and other chemicals. Most of the animals will die during these tests, and those who survive will be killed at the end of the experiment.
Most of the monkeys sold to laboratories within Israel will undergo invasive brain experiments.. These experiments involve water deprivation, immobilization in a primate chair for extended periods of time, surgical removal of the top of the skull, and implantation of equipment in the skull and the brain itself. These types of experiment typically last several years, after which most of the monkeys will be killed. In rare instances, individual monkeys are released and allowed to undergo rehabilitation in sanctuaries. This is a relatively recent phenomenon and is due in large part to public outcry.
My So-Called “Life” …

My story……
I cannot remember ever being allowed to be a regular kid. As soon as I reached puberty, I was repeatedly raped until I became pregnant.
While horrified from the events, I instantly obtained mothering instincts. The joys of carrying my child for the next nine months were unexplainable. Then came the most joyous day of my life, the birth of my son. He was beautiful. I kissed him on the cheek and noticed he had my eyes. Then he was gone from my life forever, taken from me against my will by the same men who raped me. I thought my life could not get any worse. It was like I was stuck in an infinite loop.
The rapes continued until I became pregnant again. Another son….as I looked into his eyes I knew he would be snatched from me, as well. And he was. This was my life for the next five years. I have four children. Three boys and a girl.
I tried to get out. I tried to fight back. To make matters worse, I found out I had many diseases. How could I? I never asked for this? I was now damaged goods. What about the people who gave me these diseases? Unfortunately the same fate awaits my daughter.
My name is Suzy and I am a dairy cow on death row. I don’t know what is worse….you eating my veal offspring or enjoying the fruits of my pain by eating cheese and milk.

It would also be illegal under this bill to trade in horse flesh or carcass for the purpose of human consumption.

People think Vegans have no sense of humor.
On June 14th, in a kind of poetic irony, lightning struck the 62-foot-tall statue of Jesus at the Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio. The resulting fire destroyed the “King of Kings” statue, as well as damaged adjacent structures. The story caught the attention of PETA and they extended an offer to the church to build a new statue in its place — with a distinct twist, of course. The statue PETA proposes to build, with the money donated from a Christian member of the organization, would depict Jesus holding a lamb over his shoulder, with an inscription at the base of the statue reading “Blessed are the Merciful. Go Vegan.”
Of course the church outright rejected the proposal, saying that it wouldn’t accept a statue that promoted an “agenda” of any sort. Pastor Lawrence Bishop called the offer “amusing”.
It is often hard to tell when PETA is bluffing — when their actions are a publicity stunt or when they’re being serious. This particular offer is a bit hard to believe, and part of me wishes the church had called their bluff. Regardless of whether the offer from PETA was conceived seriously or in jest, I agree with Pastor Bishop. It’s an amusing situation for sure.

If we’d only listen, this is what we’d hear: the despair, the torment, the utter depravity of fur, ripped from still-conscious animal victims. To subject animals to these conditions, borne of greed, vanity, and self-serving lifestyles, is the fault of human motives, not animal genetics.
There are links below to graphic footage of the fur industry; be forewarned that it is brutal, unconscionable, and wretched. However, if you can wear, profit from, participate in, or support it in any manner, you can watch it, this should not be hidden from society, the animals are victims of such, not consenting contributors.
This alert is focused on one furrier, but it can be used for any. If you see a fur and skin store, tell them how you feel. If you know people who wear fur, tell them the secrets of the industry, and even if you don’t know anyone, tell someone anyway. If you are concerned that a product you want to purchase contains real fur, play it safe and don’t. And remember, those animals considered “family members” in one culture are the same considered expendable resources in another: cats, dogs, and rabbits, for example, and as long as some are exploited, others will never enjoy any freedom.

DON’T SUPPORT ANIMAL TESTING, DRUG or PRODUCT
Animal testing is an archaic and barbaric method of scientific research; millions of animals are exposed to painful, unnecessary rituals in the name of “safety”. First, two million people experience such severe reactions, including death, in the USA alone each year due to unanticipated drug reactions, making these adverse drug reactions the fourth leading cause of death. Why? Because we are NOT rats, dogs, or cats. The use of animals is a lucrative enterprise to those people who breed, sell, and test on innocent, non-human animals. Use of such archaic tests has delayed progress. Second, the USA does not mandate product testing on non-human animals; there are ingredients that have already been deemed safe (GRAS: Generally Recognized As Safe) that cruelty-free companies utilize. Furthermore, no matter how many animals are killed to prove such, any person who ingests polish remover or dish detergent, for example, will become ill, making animal testing useless. Third, there are no laws protecting animals for research; in fact, the Animal Welfare Act specifically EXCLUDES the animals used most for testing: birds, rats, and mice. Furthermore, because pain alleviation may negatively affect drug trials, tens of thousands of animals are deliberately caused pain and suffering and denied any comfort or pain relief.
