Believe it or not those are the actions that led to Gary Yourofsky‘s classification as an international terrorist and his being banned from several countries. he tells you all about it in this interview.
Nobody could believe that I was in this place [prison] for letting animals free. For giving them a chance not to be killed. But that’s how messed up this world is. Man, look at all of the people throughout history that everybody admires collectively: Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, and Dr. King and Gandhi, all sentenced to prison. All radical lawbreakers. When you try to bring peace and justice to the oppressed, you are labeled a terrorist, you are imprisoned, or you are assassinated. Quite a world we live in.

Gary wants to be treated like a God…he isn’t a God. He spouts sexist racist misogynistic misanthropic infanticidal eugenics geared BS, he threatens other vegans who try to let him know this isn’t the way to spread the message and other nuggets of idiocy on his part. He reminds me of a kid in school who was picked on and as an adult tried to get people to love him (oh wait he is!) Through intimidation, lies, hatred…..even long time (30+ year vegans) think he’s batshit crazy. I just don’t think just because a person is vegan means that every nasty hateful violent thing they say should be excused. Gary needs to simmer down and humble up.

Well, I don’t know enough about Gary Yourofsky to agree or disagree. I can just say I am happy that there are people on the front lines fighting as best they can to make this a better world for animals. I have the greatest respect for P.E.T.A. and to me, this organization is #1 – they have weathered being very unpopular but animals need every animal rights group that puts the rights of animals first. Most of us cannot be on the front lines like P.E.T.A. and Yourofsky. Standing up to injustice nearly always subjects people who do the fighting to the harshest criticism. What they need is support if possible.
