Horse Slaughter – Sabrina’s Story.
Big scary men staring down at me. Their smiles are Evil. They smell of facilities. What will they do to me? I begin to worry. Could I escape if I hurry?
The others have their ears down in fear. A girl outside reads the words on the truck, then sheds tears…..When we arrive there are chains on the walls. They hang from the ceiling, on the floors, in the stalls.
I am very scared. OH ! THEY SHOCKED MY HEAD. Why, oh Why? Do they want me dead? I remember the good ole’ days at my home down south. I would awake to my owner with a smile on her mouth. Why did she sell me to these big scary men? Does she still love me? Did she back then?
They put chains on my legs and then count to three. I can’t stop thinking that I am no longer free. MY LEGS BROKE OFF! Excruciating pain, unbelievable suffering! My blood has fallen. I will soon be in Heaven; but right now I am in HELL.
Why oh why will nobody help us? They treat us like dirt, like mud, like dust. …. Wait ! The pain stopped. I feel happy. I feel free. For those of you who did this to us: Shame On Thee. Look up to the skies. You will see my new friends, my family, and Me.

President Obama legalized Horse Slaughter and requires taxpayers to subsidize foreign horse meat industry. Equine welfare Organizations denounce the actions of three legislators (Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA), Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) and Sen. Herb Kohl(D-WI), who in a closed door process stripped the language from the Agriculture Appropriations bill that prevented equine slaughter for human consumption in America, thereby legalizing the practice. President Obama signed the bill into law on Nov. 18th 2011.

Ensuring the Humane Treatment of Horses

Thank you for writing to relay your concerns regarding horse slaughtering. We appreciate your involvement in the We the People project and value your input on issues facing our country.
The humane treatment of horses reflects the values of our Nation. Since 2007, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has been barred from using appropriated funds to inspect horse slaughter facilities, so no federally inspected horse slaughter facilities have operated since that time. While some horses continue to be exported to other countries for slaughter, USDA makes it a priority to ensure that these horses are transported and treated humanely. For example, USDA recently extended protection to horses delivered to collection points prior to export, reflecting the Administration’s commitment to protecting animal welfare.
Thank you again for your input on this important issue.

Please, have humanity, please have ethic, please have respect to animal rights, please have empathy to be in the place of the innocent animals to feel what they feel when you make them suffer so cruelty!! Where is the emotional intelligence in the people that permit that cruelty? That is shameful and make me very sad!!

I voted for Obama but he has been nothing but a disappointment in his teatment of animals. He obviously does not care at all about animals. Look at who he appointed for Secretary of Agriculture—not sure what Salazar’s title is–a creepy republican rancher. Hearing Obama has signed this bill after so many petitions went out makes me HATE him. He is a coward and an animlal hater. Bastard! I wish Hillary had been elected. She loves animals and always voted to help them when she was a senator. If Hillary had been president this would not have happened.
