Help to End the Suffering of Bulls in Nimes
The Ferias of Nîmes are held twice a year and take place over five days. The Pentecost Feria is one of Europe’s most popular events, attracting nearly a million visitors.
These festivals historically centre around bullfighting (the corrida) and are held in celebration of the bull and his fighting spirit. The corrida involves various stages of weakening, angering, injuring, and finally killing the bull. Bullfights are held throughout the week and parties held every night. Paradoxically, cruelty to animals is banned in France – punishable by up to two years in prison and fines of €30,000 – however, corridas and cockfighting are permitted where there has been an ‘unbroken tradition of the activity taking place’.
The League and its partner organisations across Europe think the cruelty involved during the Ferias of Nimes is totally unacceptable and believe that there is no place for ritualised slaughter in the 21st century.

French anti-bullfighting activists stage march
Police said 1,800 marched on Saturday (September 12, 2010) in the French city of Nimes to demand an end to bullfighting. Organisers sid up to 3,000 people marched in what was the first anti-bullfighting demonstration of its kind in France.

Following pressure from the League and other animal welfare organisations, international airline Jet Airways has apologised for its glorification of bullfighting in its in-flight magazine JetWings, and has pledged never to promote bullfighting again.
Spokesman Manech Davar said: “We do understand the points raised and would not want to come across as an organisation and publication that encourages unjust endeavours. We assure you that there won’t be any more features on the same subject in JetWings.”
The League applauds Jet Airways for its decision and hopes that it will never again glorify the cruelty of the bullfight.

Please stop this cruel mistreatment toward bulls. Imagine yourself in the ring as the bull and this happening to you. In Gods name , stop harming one of Gods beautiful creatures.

What is it with the Spanish anyway. They rely on tourists because their economy depends on it? A nation that is useless and where so many people are so uneducated they resort to killing bulls for a living? Telling anyone you are a bull fighter tells them you are a failure. It is nothing to be proud of. In this day and age, we need to educate ignorant and uneducated nations that this is unacctable behaviour. Bull fighters aren’t courageous men but hide behind a sword and some fancy femanine costume making a living by killing a bull that has no intention of even going for the bull fighter. I am appaled that the EU does nothing because they are so corrupt and interested in one thing only. How much more money they are going to make from EU nations. What on earth has this world come to? Men is destructive and greedy by nature and eventually we will destroy this earth and everything in it.

So the Spanish economy is not good? Well, what do they expect? The sleep all day, work when they want and their economy is completely reliant on tourists. They do bull fighting for a living when others have proper jobs and seek an education. My advise to the Spanish is give up the cruelty and get a proper education and a make a proper living for yourself, something you can proud of. Stabbing a bull with a long sword is not courageous. I’s narrow minded and unnecessary cruelty and frankly I’m glad the economy is Spain is so poor. Maybe it will make the new generation of Spaniards think a little bit more about their future.

As for the EU. When leaders of the EU are a bunch of idiots after their own pockets. If this was not the case, bull fighting would have been banned as soon as the stupid idea of the EU begun. Stupid because the EU is about poor and narrow minded people in countries joining the EU with the harder working nations paying for the shit countries like Spain where Spaniards idea of a proper job is bull fighting. Complete ignorance, narrow mindness and cruelty.
