Background:
For years Florida legislators have considered but failed to pass a bill that would make sexual conduct or sexual contact with an animal a crime.

In recent years numerous states have outlawed bestiality. This year Alaska passed a law making sexual conduct with an animal a crime.

Politics is not a spectator sport.

Ask the Florida legislators to pass a bill next session protecting animals from sexual abuse.

Petition Language:
Pass Legislation to Make Bestiality Illegal in the Sunshine State

Greetings,

Last session Rep. Waldman and Senator Rich introduced HB 1611/SB 104 to make sexual activities with animals a crime.

Bills to ban bestiality in Florida have been introduced year after year but have failed to pass. This is simply an embarrassment.

Please make the passage of a bill to outlaw sexual activities with animals a priority next session.

In the last few years Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, South Dakota, Washington, and Alaska have all outlawed this abuse by passing similar legislation.

Thank you for your consideration in this humane matter.

Thank you.

Thank you for this Petition. And yes you are right. This has been campaigned over and over again, along with a low cost_free spay/neuter bill collecting funds from surcharges of each and every animal cruelty/animal ordinance violations – falling on the cruel and deaf ears of law makers who seen no reason why to pass it. Meanwhile, the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation commission estimated there are FIVE MILLION stray and feral cats in Florida and they are BREEDING. And each homeless animal is often the prime target of human cruelty because nobody ever looks after homeless pets, and they are afraid and hungry, and often heavily parasitized.

What truly makes me afraid is the Florida law makers are going to focus their attention on bills that are illegal, or unresolvable-and ignore the pressing needs of helpless creatures-who have no voice. I am afraid the law makers are going to spend most of their time on anti-illegal immigration bills (which the High Court blocked Arizona’s law, and most likely will become expensive litigation which is guaranteed to lose upon reaching the Supreme Court), and anti-abortion bills (forcing women to look at their fetus via ultrasound-at their expense-prior to the abortion, even in cases of incest, rape, and birth defects), which is also unconstitutional. Gov. Crist VETOed this bill-sadly because of this anti-abortion bill, the spay/neuter and bestiality bills did not make it through. Because of this ultrasound prior to abortion bill-bestiality and the low cost_free spay/neuter bill died.

That’s the kind of law makers we have. I found that Republicans are both useless, and worthless, and out of touch of the true needs of the its people other than pushing their own personal agendas.

HOPEFULLY with a wing and a prayer those republicans who wasted so much precious time with these bills which are unconstitutional will be voted out of office this November. It’s our only hope.

PS the good news is that the beastility and low cost_Free spay/neuter bills will be refiled next year’s term. But if the same Republicans are in office-it will be doomed to die again due to the mandatory ultrasound viewing (at the woman’s expense), and a bill similar to Arizona’s illegal immigration law which the High Court blocked and is guaranteed to bring the State multitudes of civil law suits. Like I said most of our Florida law makers are completely out of touch with the true needs of its people and relies on manias of the far right to get voted back into office and get approval points. I live in the deep south. I truly call Florida a disgusting Pig F***ing state due to its blatant refusal to pass bestiality laws.

ALASKA-WORLD FAMOUS FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY AND AERIAL HUNTING OF WOLVES AND SEVERED PAWS-HAS PASSED A BESTIALITY LAW SIGNED BY THE ALASKA’S GOV. I sent a message to every single law maker how SHAMEFUL that a state world famous for animal cruelty managed to get their bestiality bills passed to law – yet we can’t. SHAME FOR SHAME!!! What even disgusts me further the Florida law makers claim to be “Christians” and want to pass issues of “morality” yet find bestiality sex acceptable by refusing to pass these bills to law. SICK!!!

Sorry for going on and on about this. You can’t even imagine the hardship and tears I suffered trying to campaign including EVERY SINGLE COUNTY COMMISSION IN THE STATE–every single County official–begging them for support to contact their law makers – only to find the bills die on session over and over and over again. I don’t know how much more of this I can take. You can’t even imagine how much suffering this has caused me.
