Torture in Greece

July 9, 2010

Our Greek activist friends are asking us to participate in signing petitions and pledging boycotts to protest the cruelty against animals, which includes poisonings, beatings, shootings, and other monstrous treatments towards animals. Please take a few minutes to do these, thanks.

The ongoing and increasing cruelty, abuse, poisoning, abandoning, and starvation of dogs and cats is deplorable in Greece.

The total indifference from anyone empowered to act is indicative of this nations overall attitude. Her record is shameful not only with stray animals but livestock and working animals.

Whilst she continues to bury her head in her Mediterranean sand and refuses to recognize that blatant continuing animal torture is abhorrent to visitors from overseas, her tourist numbers are dwindling.
GREECE WHY DON’T YOU LISTEN !

what evil course of action and should be shamed and disgraced along with all other slaughterhouse-supporters and their hypocracies. but in a fair assessment it will sooner or later rebound on these devils and more than bite them in their arses. these subhumans are the spearheading the degradation and misery that is supported and sustained by greedy materialists worldwide through debt, slavery and illegal warfare. they enjoy the suffering of others and blind themselves into justifying their beliefs and activities. take recourse to the land of love where those in a generous mood are disseminating the glories of the Upper.

I am sickened by these acts of cruelty. I had thought that Greece had claims to be the cradle of civilisation but that is clearly untrue.
It is time for me to take action and hope that the rest of the civilised world will follow those that have gone before.
Thank you for putting this issue firmly into the spotlight.

    Seriously!!!
The people who are guilty of being cruel to animals should be punished.
In this day and age the human race should have evolved to be compassionate toward any living being.
Such offenders are a disgrace to the human race.

There are so many other options to choose from but the government has chosen to cheapest and easiest route only for the cycle of torture and abuse to continue. The only way to stop the out of control breeding is to educate the puplic and endorse a spay/neuter program. These animals are only doing what they do, but humans are creating this horrendous violence by not controlling their pets or fixing them so they don’t reproduce. We have a responsibility to all living things, not just our own species. To be truly human and humane we must open our minds to other possibilities and do the right thing.

boycott tourism in every cruel Country, write to ministers, travel agencies, embassies etc. Let them know why you boycott and force them to be respectful. Sadly, people still spend their holidays in those Countries despite our campaign 😦 It’s the more powerful weapon we have, let’s use it! Please don’t let the local population fool you, when they say you must spend your money there to help orgs: it’s not true! You can help much more by changing your plans. Such people care only for money, hit them where it hurts, their pocket. I boycott my own Country…

I was upset when in Greece, they thought cats a nuisance, could not understand visitors fussing and feeding them. When the hotels closed in the winter the poor cats were left to starve. We saw dead dogs ignored on the beach too – so awful – good luck to the welfare groups working to improve the animal’s lives.

Absolutely shameful! A few years ago, I learned Greek dancing, and loved it so much I became enamoured of everything Greek, and began saving to visit. That dream began to fade when a friend who visited Santorini told me about the poor little donkeys – and came crashing down completely when I joined the internet, and learned the true extent of the disgusting animal abuse in that country. I would never contemplate setting foot in a place which tolerates such awful treatment of living beings.
