If you witness cruelty on Facebook, abuse to children or animals in videos or pictures, please do not report to Facebook; if you report to Facebook the evidence may be destroyed. Please contact local authorities immediately.

Please note that Interpol may not receive your direct request for help in a timely manner; you need to contact your local, or nearby, police or law enforcement personnel who will then contact Interpol if appropriate. animal abuse is all around us we just need to keep a sharp eye mind and keep our hearts open and alert for their sake. Never turn your back, if you see a dog in the hot sunny summer without water just tat right there could be a sign of neglect an or abuse etc.

I have a question, is it possible to report animal abusers to Interpol even if the source of the evidence is not from Facebook? For example, there was a dog recently mutilated in Bucharest, Romania, it’s mouth and nose chopped off, and the police are barely doing their job in finding the one responsible. On the other hand, there was a guy commenting to an article on a news site a few days ago, admitting to have done it. Could Interpol take any action if I write to them and send all the links?

I’m not certain, but I would absolutely try it, Laura. The local police and government should be the first line of defense when reporting current abuse or an immediate situation, whether in video or photo or not, but Interpol is still a police agency. I would send them the information and the links, maybe they could take action. Thanks so much for your concern, it sounds as if there is a monster loose!

NO, they do not deal with animal abuse.This is a big misconception. DO NEVER REPORT THIS type of issues TO INTERPOL! Animal abuse issues have to be reported to the proper enforcement LOCAL authorities.If it is abroad, just check in Google for the local authorities and those are the people to target. I was excited somebody could do something about, but when I went to the interpol’s link I noticed that under crime areas animal cruelty is not listed. 😦 I wonder if reporting animal cruelty to the interpol is a waste of time.

One of my congressmen doesn’t have an animal cruelty topic either, which gets to me. Maybe it can change if they get enough reports of them. Animal cruelty is against the law in many countries so they are obligated to investigate (or so I would believe). I would do it just in case, and I have additional reporting means that I will publish soon (via different groups). Thanks, Susana.

In Romania, we need you, we need your help!!…..Here are animal abusers…….In some shelters in the country, keeps animals Flemish, hit them and kill them in the most cruel ways…..They given law, free way to murder, to kill the stray dogs……The stray dogs, must be taken in normal shelters, sterilized, or adopted by people and fed and not to be killed, if they are healthy!!!……..In Romania, euthanasia means: ax, knife, beating, bearn…etc etc etc…….Just blood and pain……Here, criminals (for example) have more rights than every people and animal!!!……Why??

Please make an online petition i AVAAZ targetted to the local authorities where these animal cruelty issues happens and post it al over FB. Those are the people to target. A wide educative campaign needs to be urgently done by animal activists there to stop such brutallity to anima;s caused by a lack of awareness and lack of responsability and compassion. Teach the general public that animals are not objects and that by taking care of their pets, they avoid overpopulation, illnesses and unwanted puppies and kittens. It is not easy but with lots of work I already a big difference in Latin America and in other EU European countries. You are not alone. Good luck! Bless you!

That is not the case and just blocks Interpol email that is vital for the issues that they really deal with. Interpol deals with international issues in collaboration with the governments on issues such as: wildlife crime, e.g. large illegal traffic of protected wildlife (they deal with the enforcement authorities of the countries on this), dealing with drug lords and their international drug shipments, terrorist cells, International rings of child sexual abuse/kidnappings, International kidnappings of foreigners, and so on. IF you see a pet abuser, please find out where that person lives (city or town), save the pictures with the evidence and report it directly to the police of that place, not to the governor, President or Prime Minister please!
Do the right things and help save the animals in need!

They do not deal with general animal abuse, but they deal with protected wildlife crimes, e.g. poaching, illegal trade, etc. Unfortunately, those issues also have to be targetted by contacting the local enforcement authorities (police, mayor, local animal societies, etc). Now in many countries in several cities they have local animal police to report animal abuse/crimes.

Dog fighting is not fun. It is cruel, violent, and abusive. Cruelty and violence and abuse are not fun. The thought and images of dog fighting are very upsetting and are very inappropriate at best and should be banned. Anything promoting suffering and abuse and torture and violence is not acceptable in our country. We are not barbaric pigs. I saved this. I’ve got a question tho, how do I report someone who is over breeding a dog and I know they are covered in fleas and have worms? I only know the person’s name and what city they live in.

This info is incorrect, interpol has nothing to do with animal abuse, what they do concerning animals is about trafficking, nothing else.
For the breeding dog you write about, I’d check if there is an animal charity in the city, call them and see if they can do something for the poor dog and puppets.

I am hoping to converse with someone who knows what to do or has been in this situation:
My cat was poisoned this morning. He is one of many black cats in my neighborhood. This lady who lives all the way down the street has left a note on my door about my cat ruining her window screens and that I better watch him or he’ll get picked up. But the note was anonymous and no one knew who it was at the time so I had no choice but to drop it.
Then she called animal services to try to get him gone. They came and played with my cat and decided not to take him because he was so friendly.
I then confronted this lady to let her know about the other black cats in the area and explain to her mine was precious. She said, “after your cat came into my house and attacked my cat he attacked me then ran out. I followed him to your house.” Now remind you, she lives all the way down the street and is very ill with hep c, she can barely walk…
Lastly, I have multiple neighbors say they’ve heard her say she was going to get rid of my cat and wants him dead.
Do I have a case here? What do I do without an eye witness to the poisoning?
