the dead flesh on which they dine.

I am horrified to see you posting that the Yulan Festival ” is no big deal!” The dogs are not, not, not humanely killed. THEY ARE TORTURED HORRIBLY AND IN PUBLIC SO OTHERS ARE BEING TAUGHT IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO TORTURE ANIMALS! Whoever made the comment that this festival is no different than killing other animals who were eaten is completely out of line and really must educate themselves as to what the festival really is about. this festival is not about eating the meat of animals, It is about celebrating the torture of dogsâ¼ï¸. I am so upset about this that I would give everything I have if I could go over there and save all of those dogs.
Please join me in demanding that this festival be canceled once and for allâ¼ï¸

No animal, anywhere or for any “purpose”, is killed humanely. It is an oxymoron, an impossibility: you cannot kill humanely. All are tortured, all are viciously murdered. The killing of dogs is no different than the killing of other animals: they are all precious souls, deserving of compassion, respect, and LIFE. We ALL feel pain and suffer, yet why is it okay to kill some and not others? No animal should be subjected to such fate, be she a non-human, dog, cat, cow, bird, fish, pig, or human.
We need to demand that ALL killing cease, not just for those who hold more weight in hearts. The dog is a sheep is a chicken is a calf is a human.

WTF! It is NOT the idea that they eat cats and dogs, it’s because they TORTURE them before they eat them!!!!! They claim that the meat tastes better because they torture them, but in reality, they are eating their fear. If it’s not already dead, humans will eat anything that crawls upon this earth. GET REAL!

Killing = torture. Furthermore, animals subjected to slaughterhouse “standards” are routinely boiled alive, skinned alive, dismembered alive, crushed alive.

Dear Stacey, I just can’t watch le youtube movie… it make me already sick the first image shown.
There are many questions in my mind, even if I travelled around the world seen many culture and practices, I never was able to cope with brutality against animals. Most of the time I had to keep my eyes and ears closed, feeling the stomach in my mouth (few times I had to throw up)… Even if I tried to consider the different traditions and culture, I really never ever could find a “reason”, since there is no reason at all to make other living creature suffer! Humans are beast. They kill for pleasure, kill each other not for survival need but for primacy and greed… but most of all, humans will destroy our home, planet Earth. Anyhow, I feel sorry about your statement “that isn’t a big deal”…. I guess that you feel the anger inside you about the whole situation… but in my opinion EACH single act of brutality against any living creature IS a “great big deal”!!!

Oh, yes, the brutality inflicted towards ANY animal IS a big deal. The point of Emily’s video is that people don’t view other animals, such as those victimized for food, as deserving of the same compassion and outrage as dogs It’s a discord: why care for dogs but not for cattle, or pigs, or chickens, or cows? THAT’S the point of the video – if it’s no big deal to brutalize, subjugate, and murder 50 billion OTHER “food” animals EACH YEAR, then why is it such a big deal to slaughter the dogs? It’s a contradiction, and if people cared for the other animals the same they do for the dogs, then LESS would be murdered. That is the point of the video. Thanks, dearest Claudine.

So the point is “other animals in the world are being killed and that makes it ok to torture dogs to improve the meat because then at least it’s equal” ? Does this mean we should all just give up? Or do we try and rescue some of these poor tortured souls, little by little using education, compassion Sprinkle some compromise and maybe the world can slowly become more animal friendly.
